Privacy Policy

The short version

BATCH is local-first. Your coffees, brews, recipes and equipment are stored on your device. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind.

What's stored on your device

Your coffees, brew journal, saved recipe versions, equipment, your profile details and your language preference.

What leaves your device, and when

• Label scanning (only if you use it): the photo you take is sent to our server and passed to Anthropic's Claude API to read the text on the label. The result is returned to the form. The image is not stored by us.
• Recipe generation (only if enabled): the coffee's details and your recent ratings for it are sent to be turned into a recipe. No personal identifiers are included.
• If you create an account: your email address and profile details (name, handle, city, bio) are stored so the account can exist and sync.

Who processes data for us

Supabase (hosting, database, authentication) and Anthropic (the label scan and recipe generation). You can read the Supabase privacy policy and the Anthropic privacy policy.

Camera

Used only to photograph a coffee bag label, and only when you tap scan.

Children

BATCH is not directed at children under 13.

Your choices

Settings → Erase all data deletes everything on the device immediately. To delete an account and its data, email hello@maistudio.co and it will be removed.
